A Preacher’s Preparation Encouragements

As I begin my crafting aspect of sermon prep, the passage of Scripture that encourages me is this:

Isaiah 55:10–11 ESV “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

Additionally, I’ve been blessed the past month in observing the craftsmanship of some men who worked on our house. As I worked day by day, I was observing them, and it inspired my work. Hard work inspires hard work. As they built things on the home, I felt inspired to complete the next stage of sermon prep, and the next, and the next, and to do so with excellence. Let us all be good craftsmen in whatever vocation we are called. Home remodelers teach preachers, and preachers I pray will teach home remodelers.
